Upon the conclusion of the training programme "Activating Student Councils and Parliaments and Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs)" the graduation ceremony took place at CADER's Academy where a core team of 25 trainers from the Ministry of Education employees received graduation certificates. The ceremony was patronized by Mr. Omar Al Khasawneh, Acting Administrative Director of the General Education Department at the Ministry of Education. Also present at the ceremony were Dr. Mohamed Hourani, Project Manager at CADER, Ms. Jumana Al Haj Ahmed, Adolescent Specialist at UNICEF, and Dr. Zainab Al Shawabkeh from the General Education Department at the Ministry of Education. In her opening remarks, Dr. Al Shawabkeh underlined the role of student councils and parliaments and PTAs in schools and the impact of this training programme that would be transferred to the field. In his turn, Dr. Hourani commended the collaboration among MoE, UNICEF, and CADER to successfully carry out the training programme. He also highlighted the role of student councils and parliaments and PTAs in school life and the impact of the programme. Dr. Hourani stated that this programme would mark the beginning and not the end of this kind of programmes. On her part, Ms. Jumana valued the efforts of CADER in designing and implementing the programme in addition to its role in on-site support. In their speech delivered by Mr. Khaled Al Edwan, Acting Head of Supervision Department at MoE, the participants underscored CADER's role in carrying out such a fruitful programme. Afterwards, certificates were delivered to the core team participating in the training programme. It is worth pointing out that the training programme financed by UNICEF aimed at developing the personal, training, and facilitation competences of the 25 participants in order to activate student councils and parliaments and PTAs in school life. At a later stage, this team will undertake training other teams from different directorates to carry on the very same objective. The programme also includes an on-site support carried out by CADER. |
